A factoid is an interesting yet brief fact related to the person displayed on the card. Think of the factoid as an interesting tidbit you’d like to share with others.
They could include:
- Where that person worked and for how long, e.g., “Worked for 30 years at the Santa Fe Fire Department”
- Unique achievements: “Won the 1978 Ames County Spelling Bee” or, “Played short stop for the Harlem Knights semi-pro baseball team”, or simply, “Baked the World’s Best Chocolate Chip Cookies”
- Favorite activities: “Loved spelunking throughout South America” or “Loved to strum his guitar and lead the family in sing-alongs”
- Favorite sayings: “Life is not a dress rehearsal”, or, “I put the ‘FUN’ in dysfunctional!”.
Remember, factoids are optional and you won’t have one for every card. Space is limited so keep the text brief. Consider entries that are unique to the person on the card and ones that will make the reader think, “Hmmm, I didn’t know THAT about her!”
